Teaching Assistant Mary Lynn van Deventer (Mary Lynn has nearly 100 students, most of whom are online. Ken's teaching assistant for the last four years for Week #1 and #2, Newbie week, Watkins Glen)
Technical support: Laurie McCarriar (Are you tech challenged? Have NO fear. Laurie is super patient and can figure out your issues!)
We conducted the three Spring Sandbridge weeks all via Zoom. Mary Lynn van Deventer, Laurie McCarriar and I learned a ton about conducting a virtual version of Sandbridge. And we continue to refine our process. For our Newbie week (all players attending Sandbridge for the first time), we had 23 students attend. For our regular Spring week, we had 35 players. For our fiddle retreat, we had an additional 11. While nothing compares to being there in person, there were some surprising benefits.
Advantages of Zooming! That's right!
Almost everyone who attended in the spring either wants to do it again in the fall or next year, no matter what! After Sandbridge, we have been holding periodic review sessions. We will do this after Fall Sandbridge as well. The learning is taking place is fantastic!
We will be using an audio interface with an external microphone and an ethernet connection! We will be monitoring your progress.
Teaching assistant for Spring Newbies Week, Fall Weeks #1 and #2, and Watkins Glen is Mary Lynn van Deventer!!
